CAS5050 is an output device that combines computer controlled precision and the aesthetics of rubber stamps to print posters.

By building the machine from scratch I created an open and easy to use device, which allows the physical production of a printed work to become part of the design process.

Next to automated stamping the machine has also been fitted with numerous other materials such as markers and pencils, with which it can draw. The maximum paper size is 70 × 100 cm.

The hardware consists out of two steel frames, a surface constructed out of plywood board, upon which linear guides and carriages are driven by toothed belts and stepper motors.

The software was written in Processing and Scriptographer.
